I went to the Headless Horseman Hayride last year and it was GREAT!!! But for some reason when I went last night, everything seemed a bit off. I couldn't put my finger on it. It was a lot less actors in the haunted houses and in the corn field. Some of the actors weren't even scary but maybe and hopefully it was just last night. Overall I'm not complaining, I'm just use to it being amazing....
Awesome experience, but they have to find a way to deal with the volume of attendees. The wait can be hours long. Not just to enter the grounds but for each attraction as well. Plan ahead, be aware of the weather conditions. The larger the group, the more fun you'll have, in my opinion. But ultimately they spare no expense in providing an incredible Halloween experience.
The hayride was an awful combination of a girl shouting through a microphone and poor acting...not a great start. BUT, the rest of it was superb! It got better with each stage, the details were elaborate and the actors were committed to their roles. The little donut shop was cute, the cider was quite good, and overall it was a great experience after the hay ride. Worth the money. 2 hours roughly from start to finish. Go late so the lines dwindle down, we had 10pm start time and it was okay.
The Headless Horseman experience is very memorable for me. I have been there 4 times now and it’s still about the same. Mediocre on the scare factor. The hayride is the best part. The little “village” is great also. The wait is incredibly long no matter when you go but I recommend the earliest time slot on the day you choose. The lack of bathrooms is the most annoying part of this place and it used to be annoying to get your whole body pat down at the entrance but thankfully they don’t do that anymore. Overall it’s a fun time.
We used to go every year but stopped 4 years ago because it became boring. Same story line. So this year we decided to try again. NOT WORTH THE MONEY !!! They rush you through the houses so the actors don't have time to "reset". They only seem interested in the props instead of the scare. When we go to haunted houses we want the heart pounding excitement of not knowing what's going to happen next. You will not get this here. If you do decide to go upgrade to the scream pass, it will save you time of not standing in the long lines.
